Chapter 3 Summary Part 2

Moccha receives a call from Faolan. He has information about her family research and wants to meet. Moccha agrees to go and, on the way, visits Ama’s studio using the key she received. While Moccha explores the place, she finds a note addressed to her where Ama explains that she was also a seleni. This revelation, along with all the other events, floods Moira’s magic memory dam and breaks it. Moccha starts to piece together events that involved the seleni, and finally understands that she is one too!

Meanwhile, Chandra spends time with her college friends, enjoying a steamy time, the three of them together and celebrating their history. The experience proves to be more than just a distraction as Chandra gets her priorities straight, after a vision of her past. She decides to return, and do what must be done.

Moccha, still trying to process the new revelations, goes to Faolan’s restaurant. When she arrives she realizes that Faolan was planning a more romantic dinner: he reveals that he’s interested in her, and that he has been for a while. The talk between the two flows smoothly until Moccha learns that Faolan also knows of her seleni condition. Moccha is overwhelmed with information by this point and leaves Faolan alone, heading to a park, wanting time to organize her thoughts. The wolf is left frustrated and disappointed.

Meness had been waiting all evening for Moccha in the dark park and launches a surprise attack! She is ready to take out Moccha, before Moira once again intervenes with backup. But, this time, Meness is prepared and sends a couple dozen subordinates to kill Moira’s group: “borrowed” muscle from a local crime boss called Aleister. Aleister’s gang members have been armed with seleni tail bone knives and have a good chance of actually killing the group. When things look their most dire, Chandra arrives to save the day, threatening Meness with one of her own bone knives.
Defeated, Meness agrees to send the gang away. Chandra, proving a point about her superiority in the city, still stings Meness, poisoning her and forcing her to promise to not get in their way again. Without any other options, Meness accepts and flees, but not without making mention that Ama is still in the city.

After meeting Chandra’s seleni group, Moccha finally gets confirmation of the things she was suspecting. Moccha agrees to follow Chandra’s lead, to learn more about her condition and her past.

Chapter 3 Summary Part 1

Newcomer Holly has joined Moccha, Jennifer and Lin as part of the group. Using the book they found, ‘Everything We Know About The Things We Don’t Know’, Moccha starts to investigate her family’s past and the mysteries from her childhood. During their investigation, Moccha receives a note and a key from Ama’s lawyer, as part of her last will and testament, which really drives home for Moccha that Ama is truly gone.

Meanwhile, Chandra visits a couple of old friends to clear her mind and find the resolution to follow through with her plans: it seems she is planning a sacrifice for her future. She is a little shocked by the mundane, parental life her friends have fallen into.
While Moccha and friends spend time with Holly, they realize the fox needs some help living by herself. The group visit Holly’s apartment to help her negotiate a better deal for her rental plan. Their plans fails and Moccha, feeling the urges and hunger of her seleni condition, separates from the group and meets Meness: a seductive woman who persuades Moccha to go to her own apartment and share her “life energy”.

Meness proves to have deadly intentions and, after confirming Moccha is a seleni, Meness reveals that she is one too and attacks, claiming that Moccha is “invading her city”. Moira, who had been tailing Moccha since Chandra left, appears just in time and stops Meness’ attack. Meness, now aware that Moccha is not alone, swears vengeance and escapes. Moira erases Moccha’s memories again, leading Moccha to flashbacks of her childhood: the night when she and Coccoa barely escaped from a burning house; the night when their mother died and Moccha saw an “angel” taking her to heaven.

Moccha wakes up from her dream and decides to re-join the rest of the gang, with no memory of what just happened. At Holly’s place, everyone bonds by sharing personal secrets and Holly reveals that she has supernatural abilities and can read the future using tarot. Moccha agrees to have her future read, with parts of her past and present seeming accurate. Holly predicts that Moccha will meet a mentor and, after that, her life will change forever.
